Unsung
her fingers
strummed away thoughtlessly
on the strings of her guitar
quiet and gentle melodies
that caught me
and pulled me out
of my dreamlike trance
quiet and gentle melodies
with unsung lyrics
that pulled me in
that kept me from falling
back away into my dreams
the melody entwined with her hands
which kept playing
wiping my tears away
with every chord and note
and with every quiet and gentle melody
she becomes the unsung lyrics
to my heart.
